Ever wonder why some women have a harder time with premenstrual symptoms?

A laboratory study published January 2017 in the journal Molecular Psychiatry has identified a specific irregularity in the genes” of women with premenstrual dysphoric disorder, or PMDD, which explains why their PMS “symptoms are so severe.” A co-author of the study, told the Huffington Post that this new study confirmed “that the women who experienced severe PMS symptoms definitely had PMDD and reinforced previous findings that PMDD is characterized by a unique sensitivity to the sex hormones released during menstruation.”
